AGRIVOLTAICS AND GREEN ROOFS PRESENTATION NOW AVAILABLE

Dr. Jennifer Bousselot, Colorado State University, presents her findings on the benefits of combining solar panels and vegetation on rooftops. Solar panels function more efficiently, and rooftop agriculture produces higher yields when they are located together on the roof. Combining solar and green roofs makes good sense!

Symposium Keynote Presentation now Available

You can watch the keynote presentation from our spring symposium, Green Infrastructure: from Design through Maintenance, by Dr. Vivek Shandas.

Dr Shandas is a PSU professor and climate researcher, and in his keynote address, he shares his personal connection to urban nature, commentary on the changing values of urban ecosystems, his climate change research, and more. The title of Dr. Shandas presentation is Greening Together: Infrastructure that Integrates Social Justice and Ecological Design. We're certain you'll enjoy this personal and inspiring presentation!

Urban Farming

In May, Ben Flanner, CEO and co-founder of Brooklyn Grange, in New York City, shared his experiences managing and working on one of the largest urban farms in the US. Green Wall Design Seminar

In January, 2022, GRiT hosted a lunch time seminar on green wall design. The seminar featured Meghan Blackson, Rana Creek Nursery, who discussed the Tinder HQ green wall in West Hollywood. Living Architecture Performance Tool

The Living Architecture Performance Tool (LAPT) developed by Green Infrastructure Foundation, is a rating system and resource, designed to certify that green roofs and walls are designed to achieve certain measurable and replicable performance benefits, so that they can be funded, designed, installed, and maintained with a higher degree of confidence.
